Dreich

rainyday

Wind and rain for five days solid. We’re not flooded but it’s pretty nasty out there.

In view of which, here are four disparate variations on a theme, courtesy of Terry Hall and David A Stewart’s short-lived Vegas project, unfortunately-named German indie rock band Slut, dance outfit Aurora, and best of the bunch, Nick Heyward.

And remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. Yeah, right

  1. Wind and rain for 5 days solid? Hell, that’s the definition of summer in Scotland……..

    1. I wouldn’t mind a bit of snow. But you can’t even *do* anything with this.

  2. I love the word ‘dreich’. I learned it from one of my Open University lecturers who was Scottish. Despite being an Englishman living in Wales, I do find myself saying “it’s right dreich out there”.
